Where is Ardmore Guest Farm?
122 Champagne Valley Rd, Winterton, in the Champagne Valley of the Central Drakensberg, KwaZulu-Natal. We’re about 30 minutes from Winterton and 10 minutes from Berg Air Lifestyle Centre, with views of Champagne Castle and Cathkin Peak.
Is the road to the farm tarred?
The last 3 km is gravel, but it’s well maintained and accessible for most vehicles.
What are check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out is by 10:30. Late check-out can be arranged on request, subject to availability.
What’s in the rooms?
Every unit has a fireplace, air conditioning and walk-in showers, and almost every bathroom has a jacuzzi spa bath. All units have free Wi-Fi, a kettle, bed linen and towels.
Do you offer self-catering?
Yes. We offer self-catering, bed & breakfast, and dinner, bed & breakfast.
What is breakfast like?
A cold buffet, with hot dishes cooked to order from our à la carte menu.
Is the restaurant open to day visitors?
Yes. The restaurant is open daily from 07:00 to 21:00, with last kitchen orders at 20:00. No booking needed.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, in our 6 dedicated, fenced pet-friendly units. Not all units allow pets, so please tell us you’re bringing a pet when you book and we’ll place you in the right unit.
What do children pay?
Children aged 0–6 stay free, and children aged 7–12 pay 50% of the adult rate. Look out for our specials, which sometimes include free stays for kids.
Is Ardmore good for families?
Yes. There’s a kids’ pool, indoor and outdoor play areas, family rooms, farm animals and plenty of space to explore.
What is there to do on the farm?
Swimming pools, a hot tub, the spa, catch-and-release fishing in our dam (bring your own rod), farm walks, farm animals and birdlife, plus the bar for evenings by the fire.
Is there a spa?
Yes. Treatments can be booked on the day, subject to availability, and are charged separately.
Can you host weddings, conferences and functions?
Yes. We have conference and meeting rooms and a banquet hall, and we host weddings and functions. Send us your dates and numbers for a quote.
Do you offer airport transfers?
Yes, by special arrangement, charged at AA rates. Please contact us before your stay to arrange.
Is there parking and Wi-Fi?
Free private parking and free Wi-Fi.
Is Ardmore accessible for guests with disabilities?
Two of our units have grab rails and no stairs. Please let us know your needs when booking so we can reserve one for you.

What’s your deposit and cancellation policy?
A 50% deposit confirms your booking. If you cancel 30 or more days before arrival, there’s no cancellation fee. Between 14 and 30 days the fee is 25%, between 7 and 14 days it’s 75%, and within 7 days it’s 100% of the booking value.
What languages do staff speak?
English, Afrikaans and Zulu.
